Events We Participate In
hBAJA SAE India is a national-level engineering design competition organized by SAEINDIA, where student teams design and build a human-powered all-terrain vehicle to tackle real-world mobility challenges. The competition tests teams through static events such as design evaluation, cost analysis, and technical presentations, along with dynamic events that assess vehicle performance, durability, maneuverability, and safety on rough terrains. hBAJA provides students with hands-on experience in vehicle design, manufacturing, and teamwork while promoting innovation in sustainable mobility solutions.
Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) is an autonomous agency under the Department of Space that promotes and regulates private participation in India’s space sector. It authorizes and supports non-government companies, startups, and institutions to undertake space activities. IN-SPACe also facilitates access to ISRO facilities, expertise, and infrastructure. The organization aims to encourage innovation and develop a strong commercial space ecosystem in India. It plays a key role in enabling collaboration between Indian Space Research Organisation and private space companies.
QuadTorc, organized by ISNEE Motorsports, is a national-level off-road competition that challenges student teams to design, analyze, and fabricate an ATV in compliance with technical standards, evaluates teams through rigorous static and dynamic rounds, including design validation, technical inspection, maneuverability, acceleration, and endurance tests, provides hands-on exposure to vehicle dynamics, fabrication, and project management, fostering innovation, teamwork, and industry-oriented engineering skills.
The Quad Bike Design Challenge (QBDC), organized by FMAE, is a national-level competition where students design, fabricate, and test a single-rider all-terrain vehicle (ATV). It provides practical exposure to vehicle design, analysis, manufacturing, and performance evaluation while enhancing teamwork, technical skills, and project management experience in automotive engineering.
A Decade of Innovation and Excellence
In 2017, Team Mechaholics built its first All-Terrain Vehicle for QuadTorc, marking the institute's first attempt at such a project. The effort provided valuable experience in design, fabrication, and teamwork. It strengthened the team's technical foundation and collaborative spirit. The year also saw the launch of Team Mechaholics 2.0 with orientations and recruitment drives.
In 2018, Team Mechaholics designed and built an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to compete in the Quad Bike Design Challenge (QBDC). The team conducted orientation and recruitment drives to strengthen participation and teamwork. Through extensive testing such as suspension, maneuverability, and hill climb, the vehicle's performance was improved. The team achieved AIR 10 in QBDC and 1st Rank in the Cost Report.
In 2019, Team Mechaholics participated in the Quad Bike Design Challenge (QBDC) by designing and manufacturing their All-Terrain Vehicle. The team competed in several dynamic and static events including traction, hill climb, acceleration, and endurance. They achieved an Overall AIR 7, with Runner-Up in Traction Test, AIR 3 in Cost Report, AIR 4 in CAE Report, and AIR 6 in Sales Report. This success reflected the team's growing technical expertise and teamwork.
In 2023, Team Mechaholics of NIT Warangal made a strong comeback after the disruptions caused by COVID-19. The team introduced several innovative design improvements and focused on extensive fabrication and testing to enhance performance and reliability. Alongside technical development, they organized fundraising initiatives and sought support from well-wishers. This phase highlighted the team's innovation, perseverance, and commitment to engineering excellence.
In 2024, Team Mechaholics of NIT Warangal achieved a major milestone by securing the Runner-Up position at the Quad Bike Design Challenge (QBDC). The team showcased strong engineering capabilities through innovative design, precise manufacturing, and rigorous testing of their All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). This accomplishment reflected the team's dedication, teamwork, and pursuit of excellence in engineering.
In 2025, Team Mechaholics participated in QuadTorc with outstanding performance, securing the Overall Runner-Up (AIR-2) position. The team achieved AIR-1 in Design Evaluation, Traction Test, and Business & Cost Report Evaluation, showcasing excellence in engineering design and analysis. They also secured AIR-2 in dynamic events including Kill the Hill, Acceleration Test, and Fuel Economy.
Transitioning to Hydrogen Engine, pioneering the future of clean energy in motorsports.
